TOTAL NEWBY IN NEED OF HELP!!

Postby Lee » Fri Jul 29, 2011 1:24 am

Hi guys,

I'm a newby to the site and also to travelling!! :D

we are heading out to aus mid january 2012 via thailand for a few weeks. After thailand me and the girlfriend are looking into heading to perth where we want to buy a campervan and drive up to cairns (mainly coastal) over a 6 month trip!

we are both completely new to travelling and good use a few tips, firstly on flights! we have been quoted around £1400 each for flights to aus via thailand, then aus to uk via singapore, heading out in the middle of january 2012. is this really expensive or me just been tighter than a ducks bum!?

also, i have heard you are only permitted to one working visa per life time, is this true as we will more than likely want to be going out again in the future for longer and need to work!

And finally the Campervan!!

can anyone explain the ins and outs of buying a campervan and having it fully registered, taxed and insured in western australia, as i have heard a number of different things from many people!!

P.S we're both 21 years old and i hold a full uk driving license and will have 4 years no claims by january (hopefully)

any answers to any of the above will be a great help guys!! many thanks!!! Lee and Emma
