You are still in your home country and you are planning to go to Australia?

From Austria to Australia

Postby Emma » Sun May 29, 2011 7:46 am

Hey

I am from Austria and even if Australia has almost the same name, it seems that there is no bilateral agreement or something between the two countries...

So, is there a possibility to have a great time in Australia anyway? I mean what about the working, the surf course and the buying of a vehicle and so on.
does anybody know something about that?
I'm a bit desperate since I found out that austrians cannot get the working holiday visa...

greetings

Hey Emma!
I'm also from Austria and i'm planning to go in august for 6 months to australia, you are right for ur its not possible to get the working travel visa. the only chance to work (legally ;) ) is to make a student visa. then you can work 20 hrs. but you also need to go to a school to get it.
otherwise you can apply for a long-stay visa for australia. with this you can stay 3-6 months as a tourist! i will apply for this visa! 6 months are the longest we can stay. maybe longer if you apply for an extension direct in aust.

when you wanna go there? and where are you exactly from ?? :)

greetings
