Free Feed Street Kitchen (Collingwood)

Postby stevepettenon » Wed May 11, 2011 11:22 pm

Hello!

For more than 2 years now Free Feed Street Kitchen has been operating in Melbourne. It is an initiative started by local people that serves as social, environmental and ethical project.
At the moment we have a number of sponsors including Ceres Environmental Park in Brunswick, Crossways Hare Krishna restaurant on Swanston Street, and Newtown S.C on Brunswick street. Also Kreate Graphics in Collingwood donates monthly printing to us to help with exposure. Food that is donated to us would have otherwise be wasted, including organic veg and fruit, baguettes, cakes, rice, curry and halva, from which we cook a range of home-cooked quality meals at a community centre in Thornbury called Loophole before heading to our spot at 160 Smith Street to distribute it to any one who wants to eat.

All are welcome to join us for a free meal and chat. Or if you are keen volunteers to help prepare food are appreciated.
Bring along a take away container if you like.

Wednesday nights, 7.20pm to about 9pm (rain or shine, and public holidays too)
Feel free to contact Steve on 0417315703 for more info.
